主講人簡介：
段華貴，南開大學數學科學學院教授、博士生導師、副院長，“核心數學與組合數學”教育部重點實驗室副主任，天津市數學會秘書長，“南開大學百名青年學科帶頭人培養計劃”入選者。主要研究方向為非線性分析與動力系統，近年來在微分幾何中的閉測地線與哈密頓系統的周期軌道等方面取得了系統性的研究成果，論文發表在《J. Diff. Geom.》，《Adv. Math.》，《J. Funct. Anal.》，《J. Diff. Equ.》，《Calc. Var. & PDEs》等學術雜志上。
主講內容：
In this talk, I will introduce two kinds of periodic orbit problems, i.e., closed geodesics on manifolds and closed characteristics on star-shaped hypersurfaces in $R^{2n}$. And I will simply explain the role of Maslov-type index theory in doing with these problems as well.
